About Sabine
Sabine is a creative visionary at heart and a native German from the beautiful Black Forest. Having graduated from both the Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts programs at the Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin, she set out for San Francisco in early 1994 to realize a dream—to become a pioneer in the advent of Web design.
Already a year earlier, she had fallen in love with the potential of the Web. So great was her clarity of vision for its impact on global communication that she—as part of her master’s thesis—anticipated the Web’s inherit blueprint in her Internet art installation “Fishing For The Heavenly Body” over a decade prior. This world-wide, open-ended, virtual art collaboration project garnered critical acclaim at art shows and galleries in Berlin and beyond, launching Sabine into her new life in the U.S.
As the very first Web designer hired to work on HotWired, WIRED Magazine’s legendary San Francisco-based online publication, she helped launch the site just two weeks after Netscape’s first beta browser was released in October 1994.
For the next four years, her influence was seen on all front doors, dozens of channels, sections, feature articles, site templates and navigation maps. As managing and lead designer, she spearheaded HotWired’s biggest redesign, creating core visuals for the entire site and managing the design department through the launch of 4.0 in the summer of 1997. Her design team won the 1998 Webby Award for best art site.
In 1999 Sabine decided to expand on her online publishing experience and joined vivid studios, an interactive experience agency in San Francisco, now part of Digitas. As their Senior Art Director, she developed and executed creative online strategies for Intel, Redherring, Greg Norman Golf Interactive, American Century, Swell, etc.
A year later Sabine started her own consulting firm aimed at delivering comprehensive interactive design solutions to small businesses and organizations in the US and Europe. Clients included AquaMinds, David Rio, Soma Beverage Company, Choice USA, Intellectual Property Agency, Media-Screen, MyPrimeTime TV, and Austrian interactive firms Sysis, TIScover, Edelwiser, Kunstpiste, to name a few.
In summer of 2003 she joined Identity Theft 911 where she served as VP of Marketing and eventually as Chief Creative Officer until the summer of 2009. Sabine was instrumental in positioning this B2B start-up to become America’s inaugural identity theft resolution provider and premier choice for one-on-one personalized fraud resolution and data breach management. The launch of Identity Theft 911 marked not only the birth of an entire industry. Soon the firm gained and maintained majority market share in the insurance and benefits sector. Aside from ongoing corporate marketing efforts, her key responsibilities were to build, lead and manage a separate client services marketing department, focused on producing and fast-traking co-branded marketing campaigns. Key partners included Farmers, MetLife, American Family, just to name a few.
Today, Sabine is in the process of launching “Power Reinvention.” Once again, her focus will be on empowering individuals, non-profits and small businesses with purpose-oriented marketing savvy and branding expertise.
